Dear Michael,
Last year at this time I mentioned how we can learn a lot
from nature. I wanted to once again share the article that I wrote
regarding the topic of letting go...just as the trees do, this is
that time for us as well.

Autumn: The Season for Letting
Go | |
|
In a beautifully written synopsis
of this season from a Chinese Medical perspective, Neil
Gumenick states the following: “Nature instructs us
about our own cycles of creating and letting go: Trees
in autumn don’t stubbornly hold onto their leaves
because they might need them next year.” He goes on to
say, “. . . how many of us defy the cycle and hold onto
what we’ve produced or collected—those decayed leaves,
that old negativity?”
In Buddhism and many other “eastern
philosophies”, it is indeed these attachments that
prevent us from moving forward in our evolution. On the
level of “the now”, if we don’t allow things to fall
away, we wind up carrying an ever heavier
load......

The Benefits of Detoxification and Fasting: An
Introduction | |
|
Over the last several years many people have asked
me questions about various fasting protocols and the
merits of detoxification. In preparation for our first
organized SunRaven Group Fast, I invite you to join us
for an introductory discussion on these topics.
During the evening, I will discuss the principles of
detoxification and offer some specific recommendation
about fasts. I will also demonstrate the preparation of
"green juice" and prepare you to begin your own
program.
For those who would consider participating in the
first SunRaven Group Fast (which will be held in mid
November), this would be an excellent introduction.
The Evening seminar will be held on Friday,
October 20th at 6:30PM. The fee will be $15 which
will include a glass of deliciously nutritious freshly
made "green" vegetable juice. And to plan further, the
SunRaven Group Fast will begin on Friday November 10th.
This fast will coincide with Lawrence Edward's
Meditation Retreat (see http://www.thesoulsjourney.com/events.html).
Participation in the retreat is optional, however it is
encouraged.
The SunRaven Group Fast will meet daily from
November 10th through November 19th. Fee $150
Note: you will need your own materials; including a
juicer, supplements, other supplies prior to the
program. This might take 2-3 weeks to acquire. You will
also be given instructions about what vegetables you
will need. (Find
out more about he Group Fast here). Therefore it is
strongly recommended that you come to the program on
October 20th.
