| Dear Michael,
December is usually a busy month. But it is also the time
to start thinking ahead toward the new year and the
resolutions we plan on making. Contained in this newsletter is
specific information and links to three projects that I again
wanted to bring to your attention. These include the 5 week
program--"Cultivating Well-Being"; the SunRaven Book Club and
the SunRaven Mindful Gardeninig Project--all beginning in
January.
In particular, there is an early registration discount for
the "Cultivating Wellness" program for those who register
before December 20th.
I also wanted to take the space to recognize Margie Nugent
who has helped me create and put together the SunRaven Website
and Newsletter. If you are thinking of doing something
similar, I'd urge you to contact her:

I wish you a season full of blessings,
Michael

| The Old Apple Tree
|
|
I always enjoyed fresh picked apples. So much so,
that even an orchard in winter carried a special
significance. Picking an apple and eating it right then
and there was the pinnacle. So when we saw the two old
apple trees on our property as we inspected it before
moving in, I was delighted.
Over the years, however, these trees did not produce
very tasty apples. More so the apples themselves were
misshapen and mottled. Last year, one of the trees
almost came down in a ground soaking rain during spring.
Our “tree man” suggested we take it down, retire the old
thing, use it for firewood. Instead, I suggested we prop
it up with large wooden beams-

| Inspirational Words
|
|
Age is a voluntary evil which is not at all
inevitable.
It is not a question of dates and
birthdays.
It is a matter of natural tendencies
and dispostions.
The age of the body is
irrelevant so long as the intellegence, the emotions,
and the instincts remain young.
Youth is not a
time of life; it is a quality, a trait of a character, a
mental condition.
Old age is nothing more than a
form of ignorance and egotism.
